HER OWN PERSON!
The most amazing thing right now about my little pookie is that she is her own person. I know that probably sounds crazy but I think that when she was little, I saw her as an extension of myself and my husband. Now I realize that she is this incredible, wonderful little person...with her own thoughts and ideas. She is talking so much now and the things that come out of her mouth!
Today she was playing with her Dora Megablocks house. She picked up Dora and said rather sternly, "Dora, no read the books and no rock-a-baby tonight! Go to bed!" I said, "Pookie, what did Dora do that she won't get any books or rock-a-baby?" I really had to try hard not to laugh when she replied, "Dora hitting. Dora hit Tico and Dora hit Swiper. Aw, man, Swiper." I guess I should explain that my pookie is asserting herself lately and does a lot of yelling (and sometimes hitting) before bed - mostly because she doesn't want to go to bed. The longer she yells, the more privileges she loses, like having books read to her before bed and having Daddy singing rock-a-bye-baby to her before her puts her in her crib. When I told my husband, we laughed hysterically. She is the funniest child!
