I recently finished my Master's Degree and my husband's present to me is the best present ever! He is going to take me to the Container Store for a shopping spree! I really want to get this blue stripe Crunch basket to help me when I clean the house. My pookie carries her toys from room to room so I know this will help keep it all organized!
I think I unfortunately passed on my OCD tendencies to my pookie! She likes things "just so." In fact, we were recently at Bath and Body Works and she was playing with a type of body spray. When we were leaving, she went to put it back on the shelf and accidentally put it on the wrong shelf. As we're walking out, she sees the shelf it actually goes on, points to me and says, "Be back!" and runs to get the body spray. She then puts it back on the correct shelf and says, "Yes, go there." and looked extremely pleased with herself! A two year old with a love for organization!
ALTOIDS TIN!
I love chocolate covered cinnamon altoids...but even more than the Altoids inside, I love the tin! I wash them out and then make covers for them using Microsoft Word. I plan out a 2 x 3.5" area and use a cute graphic for whatever I want to put in the tin. For example, I made my little pookie one that has a picture of Crocs on it that holds her little Crocs charms. I also made her one that has rows of little girls with pigtails on it that says, "Pookie's Ponytail holders." After I make the graphic and put the wording on it, I cut it out, put it on the tin, and cover the entire top with clear packing tape (or you could use clear Contac paper). It's an easy and inexpensive way to keep everything neat!
LITTLE PEOPLE!
I grew up playing with Little People playsets. We had the town, the McDonald's, the Sesame Street playhouse, and a few others. I love them! My little pookie also loves them. She already has the Little People Airport (only available at Target or at amazon.com), the Little People Learning Zoo (an amazing playset - she loves all the animals), the Little People Circus (with the train and two extra playsets), the Little People Surprise Sounds Zoo (her newest addition), the Little People dinosaur and baby (she makes them hug each other and the caveman a lot), and Mia and her on-the-go grooming set (she loves dogs). Recently I discovered that Fisher-Price has a special offer for this playmat! It is set up for the Racin' Ramps Garage, Busy Day Home, Animal Sounds Farm and Zoo. It only costs $4.99 (no shipping and handling charge) with one UPC code from a Little People set! You can print the form off the Fisher-Price website - then you just put it in the mail with your UPC code. I ordered it yesterday and hopefully it will come soon! I think I may get my little pookie the Little People Sweet Valentine set for the upcoming holiday!
POOKIE'S 2ND BIRTHDAY - THE FOOD!
I admit, I went a little crazy with the Winnie-the-Pooh theme. Here are the pictures of the food...Christopher Robin's Chips, Rabbit's Carrot Garden, Owl's Hoot-Hoot Cheese, Kanga's Krescent Rolls, Piglet's Pinwheels, Tigger's Tiggerrific Mac n Cheese, Eeyore's Excellent Wreath, and Pooh's Pasta Salad. I had a lot of fun planning this party!
POOKIE'S 2ND BIRTHDAY - THE "CAKE"!
My little pookie turned two on the 2nd of January! Here's the "cake" I made for her Winnie-the-Pooh themed birthday party. I got the cupcake stand from Joanns (on sale!) and bought Pooh cupcake liners at Party America. I made Pillsbury reduced sugar cupcakes and frosted them with Pillsbury reduced sugar frosting. Then I decorated the large cupcakes with sprinkles. The mini cupcakes went all around the 16" platter and spelled out "Happy 2nd Birthday." It was a big hit at the party!
